A small student decision that followed me years later

I have a developer account in Google Play since a student days. After publishing a couple of small projects, I almost forgot about it, but then I received a letter saying it would be closed due to inactivity.

I didn't want to lose it. It seemed like a small part of the story as a developer. So I decided to create something and publish it before the deadline.

What started as a quick solution turned into a full-fledged mobile application.

Solutions change lives

I named the application Doughfolio and created it for managing a crypto portfolio. The application was built with Expo and React Native, where each portfolio is visualized as a circular chart with custom graphics. The application asynchronously fetches data from the CoinGecko API, generates diversified random portfolios, and provides LLM suggestions for each coin so users can ask their AI assistant about risk, time, and market dynamics. The source code is open, and the application is available on Google Play.

Later, I released a new update that I was eager to use. It includes popular and new coins sorted by growth rates, the ability to create and save personal coin collections, a battle mode where you fight coins against each other like in an old card game we all played as children, and a radar feature for detecting new collectible coins nearby. I still hold by my saying:

The best way to create a product is to become your own customer. If you can't be your own customer in full measure, there remains only observation.

The application was developed independently, and its architecture reflects a general approach to work.
